If you guys are "Huckle" and "Bug," who are your listeners?

It was my server's fault, not Bet's!! My database crapped out and my usually very fast-to-respond host was unusually slow-to-respond, but ThePete.Com was back up and running by the time you guys recorded. My humble apologies!!

Thanks for the plug, guys! Episode 39 should be posted on Monday 10/16. Also, I just posted part 1 of TheUsCast with special guest STENNIE! http://thepete.com/tag/TheUsCast is where you want to go to listen to it. We recorded soooo much that night that I think it's going to be a three or even four parter.

Oh yeah and we at The 5 Minute Show may have a lot of stamina, but it's much easier to make a lot of little things than a lot of big things. The show being 5 minutes long is part of our success :)

Van Who-len?

I LOVED that band growing up... I think?

"Stray Dog" is soooo cool. That was Mifune and Kurosawa's first film together, I believe.

Hey, Bet, here's a perfect way to get back at Mr. M for joining Netflix--YOU join Netflix, too! I only pay $10 a month! Quit that crappy Blockbuster and JOIN US!!

Resistance is useless, ya know...

Good luck with your new car, Sten! Have you thought about a hybrid?

Here's my guess for the surprise next week:

A guy who sold Kiefer Sutherland a hot dog--IF you know what I mean (and I'm not sure I do).

Stennie -- I caught your negative one movie this week -- I finally rented one and watched it! First one probably in almost a year. It was part of my "single girl Friday night", me and George alone on the couch. Sigh. (It was "Good Night and Good Luck").

So how's this for a topic -- what is your idea of the perfect "single girl Friday night"? Mine involves me, a George DVD, takeout Asian, (food, you dirty minded people) and probably some kid of ice cream.

And on the talking fast thing -- if you want to see real fast talk, Stennie and I should probably do a hucklebug. I tend to adapt speech patterns to the location and/or the audience. So when I'm at home in NY or with NYers, I tend to get louder, faster, and more accented. So if my NY chats with Stennie's New Jersey, the rest of you would probably start pounding on the computer, trying to get it to slow down.

And your theory of buying cars is my theory of buying jewelry. If it's really pretty, I can't stop thinking about it, and it's still there when I go back, it's meant to be mine. If it's gone, not supposed to have it. Hopefully by the time you record the next one, you'll be driving in your new car.

My boss says "lookit" all the time. Drives us nuts.

I'm the big winner? Me? You like me, you really do!

What's the official snack of the Hucklebug, by the way? I'm making a noodle kugel right now, but I suspect that's a bit too elaborate for an official snack.

Bester - join Netflix! Then you can be on my friends list. My friends list is actually kind of sad, because I only have two friends - Mike and Stennie.

Loved the Caveman version of Hucklebug. The scat singing was also entertaining!

Stennie, so sorry about the film fest - that sucks. At least you had one fan! Did you get the new car yet???

Bet, YOU GO GIRL!! Loved the tale of your Hackenvisit - I'm very proud!!

Mmmm....my guess for the alluded to next week topic - Guest appearance by Virgil, the ventriloquist.
