Week Seventeen

Week Seventeen: Shout-outs, Listener Topic of the Week -- ice cream! Highlights, lowlights, beeeeees, movies, Bet & Stennie read their spam (and it's even duller than it sounds), fuck-offs of the week, musings on this week's show. We believe this is the nadir of our podcasting careers. We apologize in advance for week 17. Listen at your own peril!

I LOVED THE SPAM!!

Yes, the spam is boring, but YOU guys are funny reading boring stuff!!

And no, I haven't gotten to check the PO Box this week, though I turned the volume down to avoid hearing what my prize was only to turn it back up too soon. :(

I am looking forward to Bet's secret message though! ;)

Oh and the guy who invented the Cubical died last year. I forget his name but I remember he died in 2005. I hope your happy, Stennie!

Oh and Stennie, for music, have you thought about using stuff from music.podshow.com? It's all music from independent artists who make their music available to podcasters for free. I've been thinking about signing up and trying out the music on my own 'casts but haven't had the time to check it out.

I enjoyed the show! It was fun! It's always fun! You guys were funny last week, too! Hell, you did my topic of the week! Of COURSE it was a great show!!

Anyway, take care and remember having fun is the point--who cares what people say? (Maybe it's this attitude that explains why I have like 5 people subscribed to my podcasts... :( )

Hey, one other thing--MASSIVE nerd-question--do you have a favorite emoticon? Or do you guys hate all emoticons?

Why I loved this Podcast:

1. The Python music
2. At the very begining of the Podcast, after Bet announces that she's not allowed to whistle, because it means she's board, Heidi's comment of "while I'm talking?!" made me laugh. By the way, I also like it when you don't whistle Bet - I listen to you guys using earbuds, and the sudden piercing sound is kind of painful.
3. My shout-out!
4. You plugged Habitat, which makes me happy.
5. I agree with The Pete - yearing YOU read the spam makes it exciting and fun.
6. Lots and lots of laughing.

Other comments:

1. I am not an ice cream eater - believe it or not, I often have problem with the texture, it makes me gag. I don't really like eating things that are frozen. But on a super hot day (like when it is 97 degrees like it was last weekend) I like vanilla. Real vanilla. Not fake flavored weird chemical shit, but real vanilla. The best ice cream in the world? Carvel. I'm not a fan of the Dove ice cream. It is too rich for me. Give me a Cookiepuss any day.
2. How big is your bathtub, Bet? Can we all take a bath together?
3. I watched a Beatle movie with my niece a few years back. It was HELP! I think. She asked me if the Beatles were gay.
4. The Movie Section totally was long. Totally.
5. Why should any of us worry that "Mr. M" liked or didn't like the show? Is he the producer or something? I thought it was a mighty FINE show, and he is on my "fuck off" list for this week for not liking it.

Topic Suggestions
1. The absolute cutest nephie stories you have. (1 per child)
2. Silliest nail polish colors
3. Celebrity plastic surgery: who has had too much of it and who really needs to have some.

At the risk of ending up with another Dawson's Creek video, I'll suggest the following topics:

1. favorite song titles
2. earliest internet experiences
3. best things that cost <$1

I'd like to know which is your favorite swear word or phrase, and why.

I got it!! Thanks, guys! I LOVE IT! Though I can't promise I'll ever watch it. :) I will, however, convert that Hackensaw Boys CD to mp3 for some iPod useage. Thanks, Bet!! I need some music to listen to on the bus on the way into work now that my bike is dead again.

Anyway, can't wait for the new show! Oh and let me do some shameless plugging, speaking of new shows:

I've got new episodes of each show up! And Bet and Stennie, you should know TheUsCast, while shorter in length, was inspired by your awesome 'cast!! Keep up the good work!

Hey there - I am a week behind - I don't know if I will get Week 17 in before you record, so I will comment on Week 16 to get my shoutout in Week 18!! I SO would have been someone who would have sang "Sunshine Day" in the bathroom - I absolutely loved listening to you talking about it and was listening to it while walking around in the midst of many strangers and was just giggling uncontrollably - these are moments that you just love to have! I hope to go home and rent the Ice Harvest tonight - let's cross our fingers it's there. I second the Posthumous Fuck Off to Ken Lay. Congrats on the new apartment Stennie!!

Screw work - I decided to keep going. I LOVED the spam! You should make it a regular feature every few weeks - just keep some to share! Bet - so glad you saw Cars - I can't believe you didn't mention the serpentine scene - I thought that was a reference back to In-Laws for sure! I also loved Shalhoub and Carlin in Cars!

You guys don't know how great you are - I'm still giggling!!

Possible topic:
(though I love Michelle's nail polish suggestion)
Things to do with paperclips that don't involve paper.

Love you ladies - I feel like I just had a 2-hour chat with ya'll!

I think that what the podcast needs is an imaginary friend.

When I was a kid in Cleveland, Lynn Sheldon's "Barnaby" character on TV had an invisible parrot. After years of doing the show, one day he got all glassy-eyed, looked at the cage the parrot was supposed to be in, and said, "There's no bird in that cage!"
