I'm a subscriber thru iTunes, so I guess I'm number 4. Or possibly number 3. So there.

The lowlight of my week was the miserable conversation I had with my boss earlier this week where she basically told me I suck. Or, at least that was the message received.

The highlight, on the other hand, was discovering that I have allies on the staff who do not think I suck. Or possible the IM conversation I had with the boss where I stood up for myself a little bit.

As far as Batman and Superman go, the very best versions of them can be found in "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Superman: The Animated Series," both available on DVD. The "Justice League" show (season one available on DVD) is also quite good, although it made me lose my taste for Superman. I used to spend all my time in those stupid HR training classes trying to choose between Bats and Supes. It's Batman all the way now, although I bet he's no fun on Christmas.

The Shazam guy is Captain Marvel. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0033317/

And, now that I have the next week or so off from work, I shall do my best with Bet's three movies, just to give Alan Arkin his due. Although I don't like screwball comedies and I don't feel like it's the right time to watch a movie about insanity. So I guess it'll have to be DiG! Does Nick Rhodes make an appearance???

Oh, and the worst thing I saw on TV this week was Deal or No Deal. They've had quite the string of asshole contestants, and they've been doing their best to draaaaag each episode out as long as possible. But I've got to keep watchin at least until I can figure out the name of model #8.

You guys are actually entertaining me. Imagine that.

By the way, "liking" a TV program doesn't mean I ever went out of my way to watch it. Just want to clarify.

J'Bean: two things -- 1) I wouldn't really call The In-Laws a screwball comedy by any definition. It's more of a buddy movie/road trip comedy. But funnier. I think you would like it. And 2) there was a LOT more superhero talk that had to be cut for time, but the outtakes will eventually be posted. Oh, and a third thing - you're welcome, and YOU rule!

i've been listening to the podcasts via windows media...does that make me a bad person? ;)

lowlight of the week- the news that my pigeon friends might be evicted despite my best efforts.

highlight of the week- i set up a job interview for next week! yes!

bet- accents are by no means a bad thing! i like yours, i was just surprised to hear your voice for some reason. :)

batman is definitely cooler than superman. christian bale is the best live batman, ever. but the batman: the animated series totally rocks as well. and i pick batman for marrying. i think he might be more interesting in the sack. haha.

oddly enough, i don't know much about captain marvel. but jellybean has that covered.

bet, were you totally going to knock wonder woman? it's ok if you were....but how can ya?! it's inconceivable.

i've got to see that bicycle repairman sketch! sounds hilarious. the way you describe it makes me think it might be reminiscient of a darkwing duck epiode where he's on the superhero planet and the most popular and valuable person on the planet is "ordinary guy". not having seen the monty python version, i suppose it is possible that the darkwing writer's borrowed that from them.

i've been thinking about something similar to mike's question for a while now...what song would i sing for karaoke if i ever was crazy enough to sing in public like that? i have yet to come up with the perfect song. speaking of karaoke...i still want to have more people sing for the karaoke blog, if anyone is interested. it's been dormant for far too long. http://www.singdaily.blogspot.com

stennie- what?! crispin glover? what? he did music? the thin man? i find myself creepily attracted to that man. i still have not seen willard though.

the only quartermain i know is allan quartermain... and the lost city of gold.

dead celebrities i would date (assuming they aren't in fact gay, AFTER purging them of drug/alcohol addictions, and during their peak years): river phoenix. cary grant... i like william powell too. maybe orson welles, george peppard, and glenn quinn. i can't think of any dead ones i like off hand.

thanks for not spoiling the sopranos. you totally cracked me up. the long version...tttthhhheeee sooooppprraannnoosssssss! HAHA! if you really need to talk about the sopranos, go ahead. i'll just deal. :) it's your podcast after all. just warn me in advance.

it's fun to listen to you guys. i definitely want to chime in every once in awhile though.

Oh lord, it's Tuesday and I'm only starting to listen to the podcast now. But if I don't comment before I hear the whole thing I don't get my shout out! What to do?

Betster -- sadly, you're not alone. I hit a fox once on a dark road in England. It was a sickening thud. And the carcass stayed on the road for a few days, so I had to relive my murderous past each time.

For this week, as it's just about tax day -- did you do your taxes yet? Or -- favorite childhood board games? It's my turn to host game night on Friday, and I'm not sure how far to regress. There's always Crazy Eights....
